Winter Always Turns to Spring
- Nichiren
Hello, I'm Stuart

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns you can’t seem to shift, you’re not alone.
Many people come to therapy feeling anxious, disconnected, or unsure why things feel the way they do — even when life on the outside looks “fine”.
I offer a space that is grounded, warm, and real — sometimes with a little humour — where you can begin to make sense of what’s going on for you, at your own pace.
Our work is collaborative. Together, we explore what’s happening beneath the surface, helping you to see things from new perspectives, feel more like yourself again, and find ways to move forward that actually fit your life.
My approach is integrative and pluralistic, which means I adapt how we work to suit you.
At times, we might gently explore how past experiences are shaping the present. At others, we may focus on practical ways to manage what you're dealing with day to day — whether that’s anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or a sense of being stuck.
After working through my own challenges, I developed a deep respect for how difficult it can be to face what’s going on internally — and how powerful it can be to feel truly understood.
Based in Lancaster, I offer in-person and online counselling, creating a space where you can feel heard, supported, and able to explore whatever you’re carrying — without pressure or judgement.

Ways to work together
What To Expect From Therapy
Starting therapy can feel like a big step — especially if you’re not used to talking about what’s really going on.
My aim is to offer a space where you can feel genuinely heard, understood, and able to speak openly, without pressure or judgement.
I believe meaningful change begins in the relationship we build together — creating something that feels safe enough for you to explore your experience at your own pace.
OCD & Intrusive Thoughts
Living with OCD can feel relentless — like your mind won’t switch off, no matter how hard you try.
You might find yourself caught in loops of intrusive thoughts, doubts, or urges that don’t feel like “you”, followed by a need to check, analyse, or seek certainty just to get some relief.
Together, we’ll begin to make sense of how OCD is operating in your life, and explore ways to relate to these thoughts and patterns differently, so they begin to have less hold over you.
Anxiety & The Body
Stress and anxiety don’t just happen in your mind — they show up in your body too.
You might notice it as feeling constantly on edge, tense, restless, or unable to fully relax. At times, it can feel like your system is stuck in overdrive — or, at the other end, shut down and disconnected.
In our work together, we can begin to understand these responses and find ways to gently work with them, rather than feeling like you’re constantly fighting against how you feel.

Getting in touch
If you’re thinking about reaching out, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation, giving you a chance to ask any questions and get a feel for how we might work together — with no pressure to continue unless it feels right for you.
Sessions are available in person or online, depending on what feels most comfortable.
Each session lasts one hour and costs £65. Concession rates are available, and I’m always happy to talk this through if needed.
You can contact me by email or by using the form below — whichever feels easiest.
You don’t need to share everything straight away — just a few details is enough to get started.
Whether you already know what you’d like support with, or you’re not quite sure how to put it into words yet, that’s completely okay.
